Troop 67 & United States Flag Retirement

Troop 67 offers a year-round flag retirement service for the Dover community. When American flags become worn, torn, or faded, they can be respectfully retired in accordance with the United States Flag Code.

Flag Drop-Off Locations

Two permanent drop boxes were installed as part of a single Eagle Scout project. These boxes are located at:

  • Dover Township Municipal Building
  • Dover Borough Municipal Building

Troop 67 also accepts flags during our weekly meetings, held most Thursdays from 6:30pm–8:00pm at Dover United Church of Christ (UCC).

Ceremonies & Community Participation

The community is welcome to attend and observe our flag retirement ceremonies. These events are conducted with respect and teach Scouts — and the public — about proper flag etiquette and symbolism.

This page will post ceremony dates when scheduled. Most years, Troop 67 holds flag retirement ceremonies:

  • On or around Flag Day (June), and
  • On or around Veterans Day (November)
